For almost 4 months, Beckman Adult Center employee Christopher Stewart has been collecting glasses for the Gift of Sight, a charity through Lenscrafters that gives glasses to people around the world who can't afford them.

"I mentioned collecting glasses in our monthly employee council meeting. Originally it was supposed to be for everyone," said Karen Dobson, Activity Director at Beckman, "But Christopher just took it and ran!"

Christopher, who lives in Forest Park with his family, has already collected over 50 pairs from friends, family and Beckman employees.

A large portion of donations came from Tri-County Extended Care, a health care facility, where Christopher started volunteering after a stay there from a broken foot.  He missed the people so much, he now volunteers every Thursday, setting up and helping with bingo.

"I really enjoy volunteering and collecting glasses," said Christopher.  "I just like to help out!"
